Book review | My thoughts—Zed

Book one of the Rough Ink series by MV Ellis is an opposites attract tattoo romance and my first read by this author.

  • Zed: manager of SK:eTCH a tattoo shop who meets Vivi, by way of Xavier a misguided teen.
  • Octavia (Vivi): a corporate lawyer who unwittingly becomes the ad-hoc guardian of the above-mentioned teen when he drunkenly goes to SK:eTCH to demand the tattoo his dad’s face on his ass.

Two different people who fight what they are feeling for each other and everyone but them can see it. Zed and Vivi have no idea how their lives will intersect as Vivi digs into Zed’s past. At one point, I almost thought that Zed and Xavier were related somehow.

A good read. It was a little slow and the back and forth of Zed wanting Vivi, but telling her they could not be together got old after awhile.

Recommend: Yes, if you like the brooding hero type story.

Next in the Rough Ink series – Spider.
