An advance copy of this book was provided by the author for an honest review.
As a reader I had so many thoughts about this story, some did not sit right with me. Ephraim Levine, successful lawyer sets up this scheme to get his lady love Maliah Porter back.
Here is where the book went south for me, as a lover of BDSM books and curious about the lifestyle itself. I have asked questions of those in the alternative lifestyle. Some of the things I read in this story go against the very fabric of what I have been told and taught.
There is a lot you can learn by working in an Adult video store (I digress). The story is ok, but I cannot in my opinion say that it is great. Especially, with the issues coming that a blind person would have seen a mile away. It’s tragic really, Ephraim sets out to get his woman back and sets off a chain of events that he could have prevented, if he would have just listen to the sage advice of their mutual best friend Yolanda.
This story is full of angst from Maliah childhood, which in a way I felt prompted her to make the decision to leave Ephraim in the first place. Let’s not mention the colorstruck mother. She reminded me of the daughter in the movie they show every Christmas, which I fondly call the ‘pancake movie.’
When a man loves a woman, he doesn’t offer her up to another man for instructional purposes.
