Book review | My thoughts—DeMarco

My very first read by author Shantel Davis. Although DeMarco was a bit abrasive he wasn’t abrasive in an abusive way. DeMarco never called her out of her name and was very honest with her about how he felt and what he wanted from Nova. Nova had a very difficult childhood with and abusive stepfather and mother, yet she still craved the love an attention of her family. Her half-brother Cedrick owed money to DeMarco and took Nova along to help him handle his debt all because of a web of lies.

One day DeMarco propositions Nova, shocking her and wondering how she can use this to her advantage; however, Nova has no idea that DeMarco doesn’t plan to let her go. Other supporting characters Atticus and Grace, their is definitely a story there and would love to read about it.

I really did enjoy this story, some parts I couldn’t help but find a little humorous. Especially, DeMarco’s need to Google, things he didn’t know. It wasn’t has dark as I thought it would be.

Side-note: there were some instances where the words were missing or where a characters name was misspelled.
